RSVPAlex Strada's Public Address platforms the perspectives of people living and working in shelters on signage produced by the NYC Department of Transportation. About The Bronx Museum is partnering with Storefront for Art and Architecture to bring Public Address to The Bronx—the borough with the highest number of shelters in New York City. Conceived by Alex Strada, the inaugural Public Artist in Residency with the NYC Department of Homeless Services and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Public Address platforms the perspectives of people living and working in shelters on signage produced by the NYC Department of Transportation—amplifying voices too often overlooked and demonstrating how civic infrastructures can be reimagined to foster dialogue across social strata. A central installation will be on view at Joyce Kilmer Park beginning September 16, 2026, with additional small signs located in every community board district in The Bronx. Project components will also be on view at The Bronx Museum beginning October 9, 2026. Public Address debuted in Manhattan in 2025 before traveling to Brooklyn. Following its presentation in The Bronx, the project will continue to Staten Island before concluding with a final presentation in partnership with the Queens Museum at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in March 2027.
