The English Artist are proud to present the new collection from our very own Devon-based artist Jo Faulkner in her solo exhibition, ‘All Creatures Great and Small.’ About The English Artist are proud to present the new collection from our very own Devon-based artist Jo Faulkner in her solo exhibition, ‘All Creatures Great and Small.’ This exclusive exhibition will be on display at The English Artist, Tiverton, from 6th May to 30th May, with a private view event on Thursday 7th May, from 5pm to 7pm, where all are welcome to join us for a glass of prosecco to celebrate the opening of this fabulous exhibition. Showcasing incredible skill across her vibrant and captivating original painted collages and limited-edition giclee prints, you will be transported into the world of some of your most treasured British wildlife. The details of Jo’s paintings capture the heart with the flora and fauna of the Devon countryside and the wildlife we all cherish. From a badger emerging from his sett to a butterfly’s shimmering wings, Jo uses a multitude of intricate cuts, paint techniques and layering processes to create her unique collage paintings. Jo quotes; “There is a limitless energy in nature where organic patterns, weather and the ever-changing light create fleeting moments to observe and cherish every day. My work aims to evoke this beauty and joy in a gentle, light-hearted and decorative fashion.” “This exhibition reflects my admiration of all the creatures in their habitat, both great and small. Each collage is a connection to the beauty around us and a reassurance that if we look hard enough, we can find joy.” ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, captures the fleeting moments across the seasons, the change of the leaves as the autumn wind blows, the twitter of the spring birds, the Summer Hare hiding amongst the dahlias, Mr Otter playing in the flora and fauna, under the Night Owl’s piercing gaze.
