Anne Tallentire: Begin beginning

Hollybush Gardens is delighted to present Begin beginning , a solo exhibition of new work by Anne Tallentire. This exhibition extends Tallentire's interrogation of the invisible structures that support the built world, considering industrial, domestic and improvised architectures across both makeshift and permanent constructions. Made in imagined dialogue with architect Eileen Gray, Tallentire's recent work turns to the hidden hardware of infrastructure, such as lintels, joist hangers, fixings and cable trays, which lie unseen within buildings until their demolition. Reinterpreting these generic materials in single-form steel sculpture and three-dimensional drawings in tape and MDF, Tallentire unburdens these objects from the logic of their original function, conceiving hardware as a template for imagined forms of shelter.
