After featuring Laurent Dierck in several exhibitions, Gallery Nostrum is delighted to devote the entire (albeit) humble space to Laurent, for his solo-exhibition, ANONYMOUS FAME. About Laurent Dierick ANONYMOUS FAME April 17 – May 31, 2026 Vernissage Friday April 17, 17 -20H After including the work of Laurent in the group show, Burn, baby! Burn! (2024), last summer’s, attention-grabbing, 2-person show, Pledges of Allegiance (2025) and the invitational, Pandora, we are delighted to devote the entire (albeit) humble space of Gallery Nostrum to Laurent for his solo-exhibition; ANONYMOUS FAME. Laurent Dierick, born in Etterbeek (Belgium) in 1978, works from existing images that he disturbs, alters, and transforms. Posters, photographs, and fragments of popular culture become the ground for direct intervention, where the image begins to lose its stability. Vitriolized images, solvents, oil paint, and mixed media—pencil and pastel—attack the surface until the icon itself begins to fracture. The polished beauty of media imagery falters, revealing the fragile nature of what images claim to make eternal. Laurent Dierick, né à Etterbeek en 1978, travaille à partir d’images existantes qu’il perturbe, altère et transforme. Affiches, photographies ou fragments de culture populaire deviennent le terrain d’une intervention directe où l’image perd sa stabilité. Images vitriolées, solvants, peinture à l’huile et techniques mixtes — crayons, pastels — attaquent la surface jusqu’à fissurer l’icône. La beauté médiatique s’y trouble, révélant la fragilité de ce que les images prétendent rendre éternel.
