RSVPGaleria NAVE presents Sete Feiras, the second solo exhibition in Lisbon by Spanish artist Arturo Comas, opening on Thursday, 5 November, as part of Lisbon Art Weekend 2026. The exhibition stems from the artist’s research and fieldwork across seven flea markets and traditional second-hand markets throughout Portugal, from Monção and Barcelos to Serpa, Tavira, Boliqueime, Viana do Alentejo and Vila Nova de Cerveira. Approaching these spaces as cultural laboratories, Comas explores the life cycle of everyday objects, their obsolescence and their transformation from functional items into vessels of memory. Bringing together artistic practice and ethnographic observation, the exhibition presents sculptural compositions made from objects acquired during the artist’s travels. Rather than simply accumulating discarded items, Comas gives them a new symbolic life, rescuing them from material disappearance and collective forgetfulness. Detached from their original purpose and recontextualised within the artistic field, these objects acquire a new autonomy, becoming vehicles for poetic reflection on value, memory and the passage of time.
