'As Above, So Below' showcases photographic work from 12 artists looking ‘between the vast and the intimate, the celestial and the terrestrial’. About ‘As above, so below’ is a phrase that has travelled through science, philosophy and spirituality, suggesting a fundamental connection between the vast and the intimate, the celestial and the terrestrial. From the measurable influence of the sun and moon on tides, seasons and the human body, to the more abstract idea that the macrocosm of the universe is reflected within the microcosm of the self, it proposes a world built on echoes, parallels and recurring forms. This group exhibition invited responses to that relationship. Works explore visual or conceptual correspondences between sky and earth, body and landscape, detail and expanse or trace patterns, rhythms and structures that repeat across scale, from cellular to cosmic.
