RSVPElectricity by Asad Raza transforms E-WERK Luckenwalde into a sensory exploration of electricity. Led by a Conductor, visitors encounter sound, moving image, vibration, natural materials and live actions, alongside works by Tino Sehgal and Sung Tieu. About Electricity is a major new exhibition by Asad Raza at E-WERK Luckenwalde, running from 12 September 2026 to 25 April 2027. Long before electricity was generated, it was conducted. The Earth is continually traversed by currents that precede and exceed electrical systems – from solar radiation and atmospheric charge to flowing water, roots, nerves and power grids. For Electricity , Asad Raza responds directly to the unique context of E-WERK Luckenwalde, a former power station reactivated by artist Pablo Wendel that continues to generate electricity today. Rather than approaching electricity simply as an invisible utility or technological achievement, Raza considers it as something earthly, material, ontological and sublime. Visitors experience the exhibition in small groups led by a Conductor, who guides their attention through a sequence of encounters across the former power station. Electrostatic machines, moving image, sound, vibration, saltwater, amber, charcoal, ash, timber, plants and live actions appear as temporary conductors, each receiving and transmitting forces according to its own material properties. Conceived as a single dramaturgy rather than a collection of individual installations, Electricity also incorporates works by Tino Sehgal and Sung Tieu. Their contributions extend the exhibition’s exploration of how movement, attention, energy and exchange circulate between bodies, materials and environments. The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive public programme of performances, screenings and conversations. A rotating film programme unfolds in three successive chapters – Electric Sublime , Electric Power and Electric Earth – featuring works by Ana Mendieta, Doug Aitken, Raven Chacon, Harun Farocki, P. Staff, Cecilia Bengolea, Rachel Rose and Saodat Ismailova. The exhibition opens on 12 September 2026 with a programme from 16:00–22:00, including Conductor-led tours, a performance by multidisciplinary artist Tati au Miel and a DJ set by Rafay Rashid. Following the opening, Electricity can be visited on Saturdays and Sundays, 13:00–18:00, exclusively as part of a guided tour led by a Conductor. Tours are available in German at 13:15 and 15:15 and in English at 14:15 and 16:15. As capacity is limited, advance booking is strongly recommended.
