Bvlgari Pavilion 2026: Lotus L. Kang

Bvlgari will present the work of Canadian artist Lotus L. Kang in its Pavilion at Spazio Esedra at the Giardini della Biennale.

Known for complexly layered environments that meld organic, structural and metabolic languages, Lotus L. Kang’s works give poetic form to reflections on themes spanning inheritance, impermanence, memory and translation. Working fluidly between sculpture, photography and site-responsive installation, Kang’s practice often draws on unfixed, unstable materials and forms, such as the use of photographic films that remain continuously sensitive to their environment and sedimentary sculptures that refuse rootedness and resolution, ever in a state of in-between. For the Biennale Arte 2026, Kang will develop a new installation produced especially for Bvlgari Pavilion in Spazio Esedra at the Giardini della Biennale, one that continues her enduring engagement with time as multiplicities, non-linear and contingent, and gives expansive shape to questions of “becoming”.
