Richard Heller Gallery is pleased to present House Party, a new exhibition of paintings by Oslo, Norway-based artist, Charlie Roberts.

About the Exhibition: In House Party , Charlie Roberts turns his attention to the domestic sphere, using everyday life as the central subject of the paintings. Earlier bodies of work often developed from research into subcultures, professions, historical events, and speculative futures. Here, Roberts shifts his focus toward the immediate environments that structure daily experience, observing the gestures, relationships, and atmospheres that emerge within familiar settings. The exhibition reflects a response to the contemporary moment, when daily life is increasingly shaped by a constant flow of information and rapidly unfolding global events. Rather than extending outward into broader cultural references, Roberts concentrates on the spaces closest at hand. Interiors and social gatherings provide the framework for scenes that feel both casual and carefully composed, where moments of interaction unfold with a sense of quiet attention. Within these works, the domestic environment becomes a site of observation. The home, often understood as a private space, also reveals the ways individuals inhabit shared social and cultural conditions. By focusing on the rhythms of ordinary life, Roberts highlights how subtle interactions and everyday settings can reflect broader shifts in how people live together in the present. About the Artist: Charlie Roberts (b. 1983, Kansas, USA) is an internationally acclaimed artist whose work captures the essence of contemporary life through elongated figures, surreal scenarios, and a unique blending of pop culture, art history, and everyday moments. With a background in painting and sculpture, Roberts studied at University of Kansas before completing his formal education at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver. Since then, his work has been featured in exhibitions around the world. Recent solo exhibitions include Metropolis , Palo Gallery, New York; Pathway to Unknown Worlds, WOAW Gallery, Kiaf Seoul; Nature’s Bounty , Gallery Pact, Paris; Possible Worlds , Nino Mier Gallery, Brussels; and Light Sleeper Allouche Benias, Athens.
