RSVPArtCenter presents Conejo Negro: Tortilleria and Print Shop by artist collective, Torolab, examining the dynamics of life across the US/Mexico border through food, community, and cultural expression. About The exhibition explores our personal connections through the culture of food. Both sustenance and an act of care, food and the traditions of regional cuisines are quotidian parts of our lives. Yet they are also expansive in meaning, addressing political and societal conditions. Featuring a purpose-designed, mobile tortilleria, the exhibition space is transformed by Torolab into an evolving, experimental exploration of themes of community, resilience, and resistance. About Torolab Torolab is an artist collective, workshop, and laboratory founded by architect and artist Raúl Cárdenas-Osuna based on the principles of molecular urbanism to describe their community-focused, locally activated, research-based art practice. Torolab's initiatives and projects respond to policies and poetics that range from social phenomena to urban spaces and artistic languages. Their main interest lies in proposition and not in protest, while striving to establish relationships between people, ideas, and equipment for life. The exhibition will be open for a sneak peek on Friday, October 9, during ArtNight Pasadena. Read more Toggle Installation Mixed media
