RSVPVasco Araújo's new solo exhibition (Lisbon, 1975) at Pavilhão Julião Sarmento brings together a set of works created between 2005 and the present day, most of which were shown for the first time in Portugal. About Between the installation, photography, video, drawing, sculpture and performance, the existential and psychological dimension permeates the entire exhibition, as well as the performative dimension. Among the works exhibited stands out And now where am I going? (2021), an installation composed of 16 watercolor books inspired by a journey to the southern tip of the American continent and close to the artistic tradition of navies – an artistic genre dedicated to the representation of the sea and maritime life. The word also plays a central role in Horizonte (2026), the work that gives the exhibition its title, and in Far de Donna (2005), belonging to the Julião Sarmento Collection. Vasco Araújo will also present the performances Corpus Conectus , in the English and Portuguese versions (October 7th and November 18th, respectively, at 6 pm) and will hold a session of Conversas na Galeria on December 16th.
