Kunst Raum Mitte presents the first solo exhibition by Berlin-based Austrian artist Julius Pristauz, conceived as a single installation entitled GEGENWIND. About As the third and final sequence of the annual program DISSOLUTIONS, Kunst Raum Mitte presents the first solo exhibition by Berlin-based Austrian artist Julius Pristauz. The artist, who has conceived the exhibition as a single installation entitled GEGENWIND, interprets this term in both a physical and political sense. Working across various mediums and against a backdrop of increasing repression—which particularly affects the queer community as well as the cultural scene as a whole—he questions existing infrastructures that enable freedoms while at the same time increasingly undermining and eroding them. In addition to a performance by Pristauz together with Elena Francalanci in October, a screening and a performance by Beatrice Marchi will take place in December, marking the end of Natalie Keppler and Agnieszka Roguski's tenure as artistic directors.
