About event

Lamorna Ash on a New Generation's Search for Religion This event is one of our Lighthouse Social launches, which includes a 1hour discussion with the author & audience Q&A, followed by 30mins to linger and chat, have a drink, be introduced to folk with shared interests. You can come just for the talk, or stick around, its entirely up to you! Why are young people in Britain today turning to faith in our age of uncertainty? We'll be springing into summer with a gorgeous paperback launch of Lamorna Ash's critically acclaimed Don't Forget We're Here Forever- a New Generation's Search for Religion. Beautiful as a piece of writing, beautiful too as a record of a soul wrestling in the present with what faith might be - FRANCIS SPUFFORD In Don’t Forget We’re Here Forever, Ash embarks on a journey across Britain to meet those wrestling with Christianity today. Through interviews and her own deeply personal journey with religion, and from Evangelical youth festivals to Quaker meetings, a silent Jesuit retreat along the Welsh coastline to a monastic community in the Inner Hebrides, she investigates what is driving Gen Z today to embrace Christianity. Written with lyrical beauty and sensitivity, this is a reminder of our universal need for nourishment of the soul. Lamorna Ash is a writer and freelance journalist based in London. Her first book, Dark, Salt, Clear: Life in a Cornish Fishing Town , was a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week, won a Somerset Maugham Award and was shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize.
