RegisterCelebrate spring at Abbot Hall with creative, family-friendly activities running throughout the Easter holidays. From hands-on crafts to gallery adventures, there’s plenty to keep curious minds busy.
Make a Paper Daffodil Celebrate the arrival of spring by creating your own paper daffodil. Materials and simple step-by-step instructions will be available in the Creative space, so you can take a moment to make, relax and enjoy a burst of seasonal colour. Perfect for all ages, this self-led activity is a lovely way to brighten your day and it is free! Craft Paper Sculptures Inspired by Barbara Hepworth’s Oval Form (Trezion) returning to Abbot Hall on 7 March, and being visible from the Reading Room window, this crafty activity invites families to experiment with shape and form. Using craft paper and simple materials, you can design and build your own abstract sculpture, exploring curves, balance and negative space just as Hepworth did. A playful and hands-on way to respond to sculpture together. Available from the Art Cart. Included with gallery admission. Art Trail Follow Sully the Cat on a family-friendly journey through the galleries with our refreshed Art Trail. Activity prompts are available in every space, helping children (and grown-ups) look closely, ask questions and spot hidden details. From 28 March, a brand-new trail prompt will launch in response to the reinstated Oval Form (Trezion) sculpture. It’s a fun and engaging way to discover artwork and explore the galleries together. Available on the Art Cart. Included with gallery admission.
