About event

The Ethics of the Horizon (or how to pave a dirt road with a pair of binoculars) begins with a simple yet inexhaustible question: how do we inhabit time when the future becomes a constant promise and the present never fully arrives?

Though we move forward through time shaped by anticipation and reflection, our gaze is always drawn toward what lies ahead. Ethics of the Horizon explores that tension, inviting viewers to consider how the future informs our actions, desires, and ethical decisions in the present. The exhibition recognises that the horizon is not a destination, but a lens through which we negotiate the instability of life and time. Featuring a diverse range of approaches and mediums, the exhibition examines how intimate, political, and material gestures intersect with the ever-elusive promise of the future. It highlights the ways in which planning, imagining, and creating become ethical acts, attempts to pave paths we know to be inherently unstable. Dates: Friday 27th March – Wednesday 1st April | 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm Private View / Opening Night: Friday 27th March | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm Open: Saturday 28th March – Wednesday 1st April | 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm Participating Artists: Confirmed list will be provided on 25th February. Please see Centrespaces “What’s On” and Instagram for updates. Ethics of the Horizon invites contemplation of how the future shapes our present, and how artistic practice can reveal, question, and illuminate the ethical dimensions of that engagement. Exhibition: Free entry Accessibility: Please contact the organisers via social media or the Centrespaces website to discuss any access requirements.
