RegisterDemocratic Action for Climate Protection. Exhibition featuring works by 15 international artists who address the topic and conserve resources in transport and materials, with a program for young people and adults.
DJ live set, workshop, guided tours, lecture, reading, discussions, feedback Object, video, graphics, installation, painting, sound Artists: Tom Albrecht, Alfred Banze, Thomas Behling, Carsten Borck, Felicitas Butt, Nick Crowe & Ian Rawlinson, Ute Diez, Stephan Groß, Gosia Hejnat, Heike Krause, Chuu Wai, Carina Pesch, Lioba von den Driesch, Ran You The climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. At the same time, democracy is threatened by authoritarian tendencies. Authoritarian systems tend to prioritize short-term economic interests over ecological responsibility. A stable democracy, on the other hand, enables open discussions about sustainable solutions. Through engagement and participation, citizens can exert pressure for effective climate policy. In this way, a strong democracy protects not only freedom, but also the future of our planet. Following an international call for entries, this exhibition, aimed at adults, addresses this dangerous development: reduced awareness of the climate crisis, acting in democratic responsibility, and targeted disinformation. It asks how political and social decision-making processes can be based on facts rather than sentiment—and what role art can play in communicating these complex issues. The project uses artistic means to inform and invite dialogue. The exhibition shows works that take a critical look at the relationship between democracy, climate policy, and the public sphere. At the same time, it encourages visitors to think about their own possibilities for action—as citizens, voters, and creators. The exhibition and its works are planned and implemented in a resource-efficient manner. Artists are asked to specify the percentage of reused material in their work. Sustainability is not only our content, but also our practice. We accompany the exhibition with a dialogue-oriented program. For the first time, after a guided tour of the adult exhibition, we are offering children and young people the opportunity to create small works of art on the theme, which will then be exhibited in our rooms. Feedback for guests: For the first time, we have created an opportunity for you to share your impressions and feedback with us after your visit. You will receive a feedback card for this purpose in the exhibition. Program We offer guided tours of the exhibitions for school classes and adult groups.
