Artist talk with Jeppe Hein | Reflections on Breathing | Moderated by Chantal Pattyn | Vanhaerents Art Collection Reflections on Breathing – Artist Talk with Jeppe Hein Moderated by Chantal Pattyn Saturday 25 April 2026 | 5 – 6 PM Vanhaerents Art Collection Project Space Join us for an exclusive artist talk with Danish artist Jeppe Hein on the occasion of Reflections on Breathing , his new exhibition at the Vanhaerents Art Collection Project Space. Moderated by Chantal Pattyn , the conversation will explore the ideas and practice behind three bodies of work brought together for this exhibition: Breathe With Me , a large-scale participatory artwork that invites visitors to paint their own breath — each exhale becoming a blue line on the canvas walls, accumulating into a collective drawing of presence and connection; the Modified Social Benches , sculptural works that subtly disrupt the familiar form of the park bench to encourage interaction, movement, and social exchange; and the Rotating Mirrors , suspended double-sided mirror sculptures that slowly turn within the space, fragmenting and recomposing the architecture and its visitors into ever-shifting reflections. First initiated in 2019 in collaboration with ART 2030 and presented at the United Nations Headquarters and Central Park in New York, Breathe With Me has since travelled internationally — inviting audiences across cultures and contexts to participate in a collective breath for the world. This talk is an opportunity to go deeper into the thinking behind these works, and the broader questions they raise about mindfulness, community, and our shared presence in the world. Practical information The artist talk takes place from 5 to 6 PM , followed by a reception by invitation only from 6 to 7:30 PM. Access to the talk is via the side entrance only . Please note that if you have not purchased a regular daytime ticket for the exhibition (10 AM – 5 PM), entry and exit during the artist talk is exclusively through the side staircase. A painting session as part of Breathe With Me is open throughout the day during exhibition hours. ⚠️ Please note: This ticket grants access to the artist talk only .
