Hugo Grenville: Painting is the Story of Life

The renowned British artist, Hugo Grenville returns to David Messum Fine Art this October, with a vibrant selection of paintings which celebrate the colour, light and quiet theatre of everyday life. About Figures, flowers, interiors and landscapes are transformed through memory and imagination, as gardens spill into rooms and familiar objects take on an unexpected intensity. Grenville’s paintings are deeply rooted in lived experience, yet resist simple narrative, becoming instead lyrical reflections on beauty, domestic harmony and the pleasures of looking. This exhibition marks a welcome return to the gallery and looks ahead to his major exhibition in October 2027. Read more Toggle Painting
