RSVPInvisible Forces by Martina Moon Zelenika explores solar energy, Earth's renewal and unseen planetary processes through large-scale drawings, sound and moving image at MOON ROOM, Zagreb. About Invisible Forces at the new MOON ROOM art space in Zagreb Martina Moon Zelenika brings together large-scale drawings and an audiovisual work in an exhibition about phenomena that shape Earth and life while eluding direct perception. Invisible Forces, an exhibition by Martina Moon Zelenika, is on view at the new MOON ROOM art space in Zagreb until 9 November 2026. Three large-scale drawings from the Solar Corona series, Regenerative Earth, and the audiovisual project ChORUS2 connect artistic intuition with scientific data. The exhibition opened on 9 September, when the artist also opened MOON ROOM, an independent space combining a gallery, studio, and art laboratory. At the centre of the exhibition is drawing as an epistemic practice: a way of thinking and investigating through line, gesture, rhythm, and trace. Zelenika draws freehand, intuitively and without preliminary sketches. Through this process, she explores relationships between the visible and invisible, and the potential for artistic creation to generate new forms of understanding and experience. Developed during the pandemic in Berlin, the Solar Corona series begins with the multiple meanings of “corona”: from the halo and the solar corona to associations with illness, fear, and mortality. Through lines and chromatic rhythms, the artist develops the theme of renewal. Regenerative Earth brings this inquiry to Earth, understood as a vulnerable yet vital organism. ChORUS2 extends the inquiry through sound and moving image. The artist transforms satellite data describing the interaction between solar wind and Earth’s magnetic field into an audiovisual experience. Drawing and data sonification act as connected ways of approaching processes that exceed the limits of human perception. MOON ROOM occupies an 18 m² space at Prilaz Gjure Deželića 76 in Zagreb. Martina Moon Zelenika founded it as a place for artistic creation, research, and conversation with audiences. Its intimate format enables close encounters with artworks and the processes through which they are made. _ About the Artist: Martina Moon Zelenika Martina Moon Zelenika is a Croatian transdisciplinary artist based in Zagreb, an Assistant Professor in New Media Art and Artistic Practice, and the founder and artistic director of MOON ROOM, a gallery, studio and art laboratory in Zagreb. Her practice centres on expanded drawing and the relationship between perception, intuition and knowledge. Working across drawing, sound, moving image, installation and performance, she investigates how processes beyond immediate human perception can become sensory experience. She approaches drawing as a way of knowing, with understanding emerging through the act of making. Working intuitively, freehand and without preliminary sketches, she develops intricate structures through gesture, rhythm and accumulation. These drawings extend into sound, animation and spatial environments, connecting the movement of the hand with biological, geological and planetary processes. Zelenika uses digital technologies as instruments of expanded perception. Through sonification, biosensors and augmented reality, she translates data and signals into encounters with otherwise imperceptible phenomena. In 6th SENSE, drawing and sound converge through augmented reality, inviting viewers to engage with visual forms as audiovisual experiences. In RECEPTILIUM, brainwave and movement data transform the performing body into an audiovisual instrument; ChORUS2 translates live geomagnetic data into sound and image. Her practice is grounded in an understanding of existence as an interconnected whole, exploring how sensory experience can deepen awareness of relationships between the body, the environment and the cosmos. Her solo exhibitions include presentations at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, and the Josip Račić Gallery of the National Museum of Modern Art, Zagreb. Her work has also been shown at the ISEA2019 special exhibition at the Asia Culture Center, South Korea, and at CICA Museum, South Korea. Her works are held in public collections, including the National Museum of Modern Art, Zagreb. She studied Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, graduating in 2001, and completed a master’s degree in Video and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana, in 2006.
