Jahic/Roethlisberger

The Basel-based artist duo, Admir Jahic (b. 1975, Basel) and Comenius Roethlisberger (b. 1971, Basel), will present a new project at Kunst Raum Riehen this fall. About Working as a team, they explore chance and the unknown across a range of artistic media. In addition to philosophical questions about reality and the world, their assemblages, photographs, and objects assign positive value to processual qualities and to the flawed. Collaboration with other artists and cultural practitioners is also fundamental to their practice, with the aim of developing collective works. This collective approach is evident in their publication projects ( Artist’s Recipes , 2018, MUSIC – A Conversation Through Song Titles , 2021), in exhibition projects such as their presentation at the Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger (2021), as well as in their project space, Bolo Publishing, at Spalenberg 64. The duo was awarded the Culture Prize of the Municipality of Riehen in 2015.
