Jeannie Rhyu: SIXTH OCEAN, EIGHTH SEA

Feia is elated to welcome @jeannierhyu to the family, and host her DEBUT SOLO EXHIBITION opening on September 19th in the downstairs gallery About Exploring themes of migration, grief, memory, and the ocean as both a physical and psychological landscape, the exhibition uses painting and ceramics to imagine a geography beyond the known world and proposes a space of discovery where histories, identities, and myths continue to unfold. Born in Korea, raised in Canada, and now based in Queens, Rhyu invites viewers into an immersive space where memory moves like a current, histories are continually rewritten, and the sea exists as both origin and destination. In this space, these waters hold genesis and wreckage, carrying fragments of forgotten histories, lost journeys, and inherited grief while opening possibilities for renewal and discovery.
