Bringing together artists shaped by divergent histories, materials, and experiences, Latent Matter explores the lives of objects beyond the boundaries of human perception.
Informed by ideas of Object-Oriented Ontology, the exhibition considers a world in which things exist beyond their human uses or interpretations, engaging in subtle exchanges through vibration, force, proximity, and material encounter. These imperceptible interactions suggest a quiet, ongoing communication between objects, unfolding independently of our presence or awareness.
Through an attention to material, form, and the conditions in which things exist, the exhibition approaches objects as active presences within a shifting field of relations. Surfaces meet, frequencies resonate, and forces pass between bodies and materials, giving rise to connections that may remain unseen or resist translation into human terms.
Latent Matter invites a consideration of these hidden dynamics, where objects exceed their apparent boundaries and participate in a world of relations that continues to unfold, whether we are present to perceive it or not.
