LSYTSDA (Lo siento yo tampoco soy de aquí) de Natasha Lelenco

LSYTSDA is a multimedia project on human mobility, combining painted coin portraits, video, sound and migrants’ stories, with full interviews and an archive available online. About LSYTSDA (Lo siento, yo tampoco soy de aquí) is a multimedia project exploring human mobility, developed through interviews with migrants. At the core of the pictorial and audiovisual installation is a series of painted portraits in the form of coins. Here, the coin operates as a symbolic device through which to question the value we assign to people. Arranged in panels, the pieces form a composition based on repetition: from a distance, the faces merge into a collective image and construct a visual system; viewed up close, each one recovers its individuality. Video and sound incorporate the voices and stories of those portrayed, while the project’s website brings together the complete interviews and an archive of the coins created since its inception.
