Material in Motion

Discover Material in Motion, the 11th SKM Community Exhibition featuring seven emerging artists exploring the dynamic relationship between material, process and artistic expression. About The 11th SKM Community Exhibition, titled Material in Motion, invites you to immerse yourself in the diverse artistic worlds of seven of our talented artists. Some artworks begin with an idea, followed by the search for the right material to bring it to life. Others start with an existing material, from which an idea gradually emerges. What ultimately takes shape is often only revealed through the process of making. A colour looks different on the surface than expected, or a line remains visible even though it was meant to be covered. These moments are an integral part of the creative process and are consciously embraced by many artists. This is precisely what the exhibition's title refers to. The materials in the artworks on display are in motion, and this movement remains visible in the finished pieces. As you engage with the works, the movement continues, as each piece can evoke something different in every viewer. Don't miss the opportunity: Meet the artists in person on the opening night at the SKM Gallery. Discover the stories behind their works firsthand and connect with fellow art enthusiasts over drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you!
