Overview THE LINTON SINGERS A Charity Concert supporting teacher training in Malawi MOZART AT SALZBURG Conductor: Murray Campbell Te Deum Laudamus, KV141 Solemn Vespers, K339 Coronation Mass in C major, K317 Three works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed in the beautiful setting of the Canongate Kirk. The Linton Singers and their conductor Murray Campbell will be joined by an invited orchestra of 25 accomplished musicians. There will be four soloists – Caroline Gold – Soprano, Hannah Haynes - Mezzo Soprano, Theodore Rankine Fourdraine – Tenor and Mike Chad – Bass. The concert will start with the Te Deum Laudamus, KV141 which was written when Mozart was a young man in Salzburg. This will then be followed by the Solemn Vespers, K339 which is a setting of five Psalms and a Magnificat that was written when Mozart was 24. The Vespers includes the popular soprano aria Laudate Dominum (Praise the Lord, all you nations) that is often performed as a solo item. Our concert will conclude with the magnificent Coronation Mass in C major, K317 which was considered one of Mozart’s finest works.
