NHK Collection for Lidice

65 works from the private collection of Turkish-British collector Huma Kabakci go on public view for the first time at the Lidice Memorial, Czech Republic. About NHK Collection for Lidice presents 65 works donated to the Lidice Art Collection (LAC) by Huma Kabakci - the most significant gift to the collection in recent years, and the first time these works have been shown publicly. The collection brings together artists from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan and the Czech Republic, including Ara Güler, Alexander Kosolapov, İpek Duben, Babi Badalov and Sabina Shikhlinskaya, united by themes of memory, displacement and identity. LAC was founded in the 1960s by British MP Sir Barnett Stross through an international act of artistic solidarity following the Nazi destruction of Lidice in 1942 - a founding principle this gift continues.
