Persona Parade | Korean Artists Group Exhibition

Neverland Gallery and Gallery Aile (Seoul) present Persona Parade, a group exhibition of four Korean artists: Han Seunghun, Nina Yang, Eunbong and YUJA. "Persona" comes from the Latin word for the mask worn by actors in classical theatre; Carl Jung later used it for the face we show the world. Each artist works with a distinctive character whose cute, gentle or innocent face carries emotions that are hard to put into words. Han Seunghun paints doll-like figures with quiet, distant gazes; Nina Yang builds pastel fairy-tale worlds from happy childhood memories; Eunbong's stitched voodoo doll VOO holds up a "SMILE" mask; and YUJA layers oil pastel flowers and light into forests where grown-ups who are still children wander. Together, the works show the double nature of the persona: a way to negotiate with the world, and a last shelter for the child within. Free admission, by appointment only (Tue–Sat 13:00–18:00).
