RegisterCome along to our adults-only, after-hours night of entertainment inspired by the vibrant, provocative, and storytelling world of Grayson Perry.
Experience a high-energy spoken word takeover by Chris White and delve into the art of identity and craftsmanship with a specialist talk by RAMM’s Costume Curator, Shelley Tobin, focusing on the intricate world of costume and applique, echoing the themes of Perry’s own work. Join PRISM, a regional network of LGBTQ+ professionals across the South West England STEMM sector, in a series of creative activities exploring the work of queer scientists like Ben Barres, Nergis Mavalvala and Joan Roughgarden. Caroline Barratt, Counselling Lecturer from Iron Mill College, discusses concepts such as the authentic self, masking, and strategic authenticity in a fascinating talk. She will also be running a creative activity exploring aspects of self and identity throughout the evening. Tour the hugely popular Grayson Perry: Aspects of myself exhibition with curator Lara Goodband who will lead you through the narratives and nuances of his iconic masterpieces. If you are feeling creative on the night, join Just Sewn Stories for a hands-on textile activity creating a unique patch to take home with you, or sit with friends and channel your inner artisan at our clay craft station to mould and shape a pot inspired by Grayson Perry’s work. When you’re ready to tap your toes and do-si-do, head to Gallery 20 to join traditional English folk dancing called by the pros from Wren Music. And finish your evening in style by joining the jig to the sounds of the Back Beach Boyz, a renowned shanty crew who perform a repertoire of maritime folk songs at festivals across the country and beyond. Or simply relax and catch-up with friends over a drink. Book your tickets now to be sure not to miss out! Information about accessibility is available on our Access page .
