Nicodim Gallery Bucharest presents the debut solo exhibition of Italian-Romanian artist Marta Matiolli, featuring large and small metal sculptures inspired by Tarot symbolism. About Nicodim Gallery Bucharest is pleased to present "Seven of Cups" the solo exhibition of Italian-Romanian artist Marta Matiolli. The exhibition marks her debut with the gallery, opens in October at Bucharest and will be on view till December 19. Set within the gallery space that once served as industrial workshop for public monuments, the debut presentation of Marta Matiolli at Nicodim Gallery unfolds from an art historical lineage of fragmentation, reproduction and material transmutation, and features a new body of work comprised of large and small metal sculptures. Centered around the rich symbolism of the Tarot's Seven of Cups and anchored in the heritage of the venue, the exhibition dismantles the traditional authority of monumental sculpture, reducing heavy brass, bronze, and mirrored steel to the vulnerable, intimate scale of the human body.
