The Chancy Life is a solo exhibition by artist and curator Abbas Mirmashhouri, who lives and works in Zurich. The exhibition explores the idea that human existence is shaped not only by intention and choice but also by chance and inherited circumstances. Family, geography, social environment and historical moment all play a decisive role in shaping what we often interpret as success, failure or merit. Through expressive figurative paintings, Mirmashhouri reflects on the fragile tension between personal agency and the unpredictable structures that influence human life. The works invite viewers to reconsider pride, self-blame and judgement in a world profoundly shaped by chance.
