The Gaze: La Mirada

La Mirada (The Gaze) is an exploration of beauty, perception, and the deeply personal ways in which we experience and interpret the world around us. About For Gustavo Corral, beauty lies not only in what we see, but in how we choose to look. His paintings reflect an intimate dialogue between emotion, thought, and visual expression, inviting viewers to discover new meanings in familiar surroundings. Moving between abstraction and figuration, Corral develops a distinctive artistic language through expressive gestures, vibrant colours, and rich textures. His work explores the human condition, transforming personal experiences and emotions into visual compositions that encourage reflection and emotional connection. Painting, for Corral, is a conscious act of creation and communication — a way of translating inner feelings into something tangible and universal. Through his art, he seeks to awaken emotions, offer companionship, and reveal the extraordinary beauty hidden within everyday life. La Mirada ultimately invites us to reconsider our own perception of reality, reminding us that art has the power to transform not only what we see, but also how we feel about the world.
