To Respond Is to Imagine the Other

A visit-performance with the collective Os Espacialistas exploring exercises in attention and affective connection with images through poetic exchange and embodied practice. About Together with the collective Os Espacialistas, we will engage in exercises to stretch our attention and foster an affective connection with the images that call to us. We will exchange poetic perspectives, move in and out of the boundaries that define us, linger in the situations they shelter, and transform each image we gather into a future house of reading. In the form of objects subject to journeys, we will create with words, magnify the miniature, and become aware that reading is practicing the religion of memory; seeing is inhabiting, from a distance, the closeness of the other; and inhabiting is becoming a house of conversation.
