RSVP25 Iranian artists revisit Little Red Riding Hood, exploring journeys, memory, belonging and the many paths through the forest. About Unveiling the Forest brings together 25 Iranian artists who revisit Little Red Riding Hood through their own visual languages and experiences. In this exhibition, the story becomes more than a tale of danger. Little Red Riding Hood leaves the prescribed path. She wanders, looks around and takes pleasure in what she finds along the way. She loves where she comes from, but she is not bound to it. Many of the artists in the exhibition have left Iran and built lives elsewhere. Each journey is different, shaped by its own circumstances, losses and discoveries. Leaving familiar places, people and a first language can bring challenges, but it can also open new ways of seeing and making. These works reflect on what is carried, what is left behind, and what takes shape along the way. The grandmother connects us to the past; the mother stands in the present; and Little Red Riding Hood looks towards the future. The wolf, too, resists a single interpretation. It may represent danger, but across these works wolves are confronted, killed, eaten, embraced, or found within ourselves. There is no longer one path through the forest, and no single ending to the story. The artists did not take the straight path. But they are here. Read more Toggle Drawing Prints Painting
