(Yours) in the Undoing

(Yours) in the Undoing are the final words of a letter from nature we will never get the chance to read. In Carrara, letters are carved into marble as they crash and fall in the quarries. What remains is a fading echo — one we like to ignore for the sake of progress. About Responding to this echo, (Yours) in the Undoing presents new works conceived for this exhibition, bringing together five artists whose practices in contemporary marble sculpture converge around transformation, coexistence, and renewal — Anna Multone, Francesca Bernardini, Selene Frosini, Silvia Scaringella, and Verena Mayer-Tasch. Situated within mudaC's historic former convent of San Francesco and in dialogue with the museum's permanent collection, it inhabits the double meaning held within its title: the undoing as ruin and downfall, but also as a freeing action — loosening fixed structures so that other forms of relation may emerge.
